Head of Technology- Systems & Engineering

Role: Senior technology leader overseeing shared R&D platforms and products within Johnson & Johnson's Innovative Medicine R&D division. Objectives: define, operate, and modernize core digital platforms to enable efficient discovery, development, regulatory compliance, and data-driven decision-making. Responsibilities: lead cross-functional teams managing enterprise platforms spanning finance, planning, data, AI, compute, security, and cloud; develop strategic roadmaps, ensure platform reliability, security, and scalability; drive modernization, automation, and lifecycle management; establish governance standards, optimize costs, and foster innovative capabilities like AI-readiness. Collaborate with R&D functions, enterprise IT, security, and external vendors; translate complex needs into scalable technology solutions; lead a large, global team and manage portfolio priorities with agile methodologies. Qualifications: 15+ years in enterprise technology leadership, with experience in cloud, data, AI, and software engineering, preferably within regulated biotech, pharma, or healthcare environments. Advanced degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field preferred. Senior experience in platform management, cybersecurity, vendor ecosystems, and global team leadership. High-Value: Focus on R&D digital infrastructure supporting discovery through development, regulatory, and safety operations; emphasis on cloud, AI, automation, security, lifecycle management, and cross-functional portfolio oversight. Travel: 15–20% domestically and internationally.
