What Youβll Do
- Partner with the Chief Strategy Officer & Chief Legal Officer to shape corporate strategy.
- Own long-range strategic planning and annual strategic planning; translate mission/pipeline/commercial trajectory into a dynamic view of where the company is going.
- Lead goal-setting and operational planning (e.g., OKRs) connecting enterprise strategy to affiliate/function execution.
- Prioritize pipeline and affiliates in partnership with R&D, Regulatory, Commercial, and affiliate leadership.
- Synthesize external signals (science, competitors, regulation, markets, geopolitical/government dynamics) into strategic implications.
- Support licensing/partnership/transaction evaluations; develop evaluation frameworks; partner with Legal, Finance, and R&D on diligence/planning.
- Lead Board/investor-facing strategy materials with analytical rigor and clear communication.
Responsibilities
- Think from first principles; structure arguments/narratives that drive defensible decisions.
- Make complexity simple; advise/advocate so the organization can act.
- Balance urgency and rigor; challenge assumptions; operate with high integrity.
Qualifications
- 8β12+ years in strategic planning, management consulting, or investment banking; strong biopharma/life sciences exposure.
- Strong preferred: top-tier strategy firm experience (McKinsey/BCG/Bain or equivalent).
- Board-level strategy materials experience.
- Analytically exceptional: financial modeling, scenario analysis.
- Clear, precise communication; cross-functional collaboration.
- Advanced degree strongly preferred (MBA/PhD/MD or equivalent).
Location
- Bay Area (Palo Alto or San Francisco); in-person expected; relocation support available.
