Role Summary

Head of Procurement External Manufacturing Specialty Care and Pasteur leads global EM&S procurement strategy for Large Molecules, focusing on delivering enterprise-wide value through innovative sourcing strategies and strategic CMO/CDMO partnerships. Responsible for an evolving external spend exceeding $1B. Location options: Morristown, NJ or Cambridge, MA.

Responsibilities

  • Drive global EM&S Growth Strategy implementation for Large Molecules in collaboration with Business and Procurement teams
  • Act as strategic partner for R&D centers in developing and executing Clinical CMO strategy worldwide
  • Lead Make vs. Buy decisions aligned with EM&S global strategy
  • Optimize global CMO/CDMO partnerships to maximize value creation and competitive advantage
  • Develop and execute global category strategies based on comprehensive market intelligence
  • Lead complex, high-value global sourcing initiatives and negotiations
  • Work closely with Business on managing global supplier relationship programs
  • Drive procurement excellence across Total Cost of Ownership, Risk Management, Innovation, CSR, and Sustainability
  • Establish and manage competitive CMO & CDMO panel aligned with EM&S strategy
  • Build and lead a global high-performing team with strong business acumen
  • Champion transformation initiatives across the procurement organization
  • Foster innovation and continuous improvement within EM&S framework
  • Deliver world-class savings objectives aligned with EM&S targets
  • Partner with Finance to develop robust tracking mechanisms for external spend
  • Contribute to global budget planning and long-range strategic initiatives

Qualifications

  • Required: Ph Pharmaceutical Engineering or related field; Master’s degree in Business Administration preferred
  • Required: 15+ years of experience in senior management roles
  • Required: Proven track record in global pharmaceutical/biotech procurement
  • Required: Strong background in External Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management
  • Required: Global strategic thinking and enterprise-wide business acumen
  • Required: Ability to influence and align multiple stakeholders across a global matrix
  • Required: Proven change management capabilities in complex global environments
  • Required: Excellence in leading global, diverse teams
  • Required: Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Required: Outstanding communication and presentation abilities
  • Required: Deep understanding of global pharmaceutical manufacturing and CMO landscape
  • Required: Expertise in global procurement best practices and processes
