Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee R&D coordination and management of external evaluations, collaborations, MTAs, partnerships, and out-licensing opportunities for Sanofi Vaccines adjuvant and mRNA platforms.
- Serve as the first point of contact within R&D for incoming requests for platform evaluations, collaborations, and supply agreements; evaluate and prioritize based on scientific and strategic value.
- Partner with Global Platform Leads and New Vaccines project teams to provide scientific input and develop workplans as needed.
- Partner with External R&D, Business Development, and Legal to ensure appropriate governance and legal framework for external collaborations/partnerships.
- Ensure external relationships are documented, tracked, and followed up in a timely and structured manner; manage internal compliance, coordination, and external relationship/reputation.
- Proactively scout, identify, and manage external platform out-licensing and supply opportunities.
- Lead opportunities for financial value creation through strategic out-licensing of adjuvant or mRNA technologies.
- Lead cross-functional teams to evaluate opportunities and act as the R&D lead on due diligence.
- Act as an Alliance Manager within R&D to manage ongoing external strategic partnerships.
- Work with BD, Legal, and IP to ensure governance and compliance; maintain timely documentation, tracking, and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate, Masterβs, or PhD in Life Sciences, Medicine, Pharmacy, Engineering, or equivalent.
- MBA preferred.
- 10+ years leadership experience in a pharmaceutical environment with exposure to R&D, Business Development, Finance, Legal, and Intellectual Property.
Knowledge/Experience/Technical Competencies:
- Proven leadership in complex, matrixed environments.
- Business acumen and financial management excellence in high-value, high-uncertainty, high-investment pharma contexts.
- Strategic partnership creation and management.
- Strong knowledge of the end-to-end vaccine/pharma development value chain.
