Main Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Governance
- Serve as the only Occupational Health Physician in North America, providing clinical oversight and medical decision-making across all sites and business units.
- Provide clinical governance and medical supervision to OH nursing staff and allied health professionals.
- Act as clinical escalation point for complex cases, fitness-for-duty determinations, and high-risk situations.
- Authorize specialized medical clearances (respirator fitness, hazardous materials work, confined space entry, international travel).
- Design and deploy medical surveillance programs and post-exposure protocols aligned with regulatory requirements.
- Provide consultative support on occupational health cases with People & Culture, Legal, and Risk Management.
- Oversee emergency response programs (AED management, first responder coordination, crisis medical protocols).

Global Role โ€” NA Key Medical Doctor (KMD)
- Represent NA in global OH governance and cross-regional initiatives.
- Align NA practices with global OH frameworks and adapt to US/Canadian regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to global health trending and epidemiological analysis.

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
- Maintain accountability for OH regulatory compliance (OSHA/NIOSH and applicable agencies).
- Coordinate with workersโ€™ compensation carriers/TPAs and Risk Management to manage claims and care.
- Serve as primary SME for OH regulatory matters; lead/support compliance audits.

Program Development & Deployment
- Lead OH program design/deployment (WC management, screenings, wellness, occupational disease prevention).
- Own digital transformation/EMR implementation (AI capabilities, digital tools, self-service portals).
- Develop and implement OH policies/standards; oversee outsourced provider contracts.

Crisis & Emergency Management
- Medical authority for health-related incidents/outbreaks/emergencies across NA.
- Provide medical leadership during pandemics; support business continuity and emergency preparedness.

Department Leadership & People Management
- Lead/manage/develop ~9 nurses/NPs; coach, mentor, and support performance and succession.

Financial & Operational Management
- Own NA OH budget; run financial analysis/forecasting; develop/monitor KPIs and dashboards.
- Identify cost optimization opportunities while maintaining quality/compliance.

Qualifications
- M.D. or D.O. (required).
- Board Certification in Occupational Medicine (ABPM) (required).
- Additional primary care board certification (preferred).
- Active, unrestricted medical license in at least one of NJ, MA, or PA; obtain additional state licensures as needed.
- 15+ years progressive Occupational Medicine experience in industrial/pharmaceutical/corporate settings (required).
- 10+ years leadership and people management in corporate/matrix environment (required).
- Demonstrated regulatory compliance experience (OSHA, NIOSH, ADA, HIPAA, workersโ€™ compensation, medical surveillance) (required).
- Experience developing post-exposure protocols and medical surveillance programs (required).
- Experience in global/multinational organizations and clinical care practice (strongly preferred).
- Strong strategic thinking; exceptional written/verbal communication; experience with digital health/EMR/data analytics.

Physical Requirements
- Office/clinic-based; frequent domestic and occasional international travel.
