Role: Senior Medical Affairs leader (VP/Sr. VP) overseeing U.S. medical strategy for Lyell's late-stage CAR T-cell therapies targeting hematologic malignancies and solid tumors. Responsibilities include developing and executing integrated medical plans across multiple programs, building and scaling a high-performing team, and supporting product launches by aligning scientific communication and evidence-generation efforts. The role involves stakeholder engagement with KOLs, medical societies, and patient groups, ensuring compliance, and integrating digital and AI innovations into Medical Affairs activities. Key collaboration occurs with Clinical Development, Regulatory, Commercial, and Market Access teams to facilitate seamless patient experiences and successful product launches. Qualifications: MD or DO strongly preferred; PhD, PharmD, or equivalent considered. Extensive experience (15+ years for VP, 20+ for Sr. VP) in clinical medicine, life sciences, or biopharma, with significant leadership in oncology, hematology, or cell therapy. Prior experience with product launches, cross-functional leadership, and AI/digital tools is advantageous. Skills: Proven scientific expertise in oncology/hematology, strategic planning, team leadership, stakeholder influence, and excellent communication. High-value specifics include expertise in cell therapy, immuno-oncology, hematologic malignancies, and solid tumors, with a focus on late-stage development and commercialization. Location: Seattle or South San Francisco, with remote flexibility and regular travel.
