Role Summary

Head of Contracts & Pricing. Lead the strategic and analytic aspects of the US Oncology BU’s commercial and government pricing strategy and commercial contracting management. Oversee advanced market access analytics and lead the health economics function.

Responsibilities

  • Guides the evaluation of new pricing and contracting opportunities, determining which possibilities meet business objectives and establishing steps to capitalize on them.
  • Enhance and manage processes across all access contracting decisions and align cross-functional teams among access, government pricing, legal, marketing, and compliance operations.
  • Lead Pricing Governance Committee, Contract Assessments, Business Case Modeling and Analysis.
  • Lead development and refresh of business rules and playbooks with appropriate reporting and compliance.
  • Chair the Pricing Committee responsible for pricing and contracting strategy across all US oncology customer segments; present recommendations to Senior Management for approval.
  • Identify information needs and conduct quantitative analysis of pricing and contracting matters; oversee advanced market analytics and synthesize information from internal and external sources to develop complex models.
  • Manage and model GPO and VBA contract business cases and analytics.
  • Oversee Gross to Net forecast and models; collaborate with forecasting and finance to integrate price, discounts, rebates, and risks into financial projections for US OBU.
  • Lead pricing analytics for in-line products and ensure contracts meet business goals; balance ASP, price, share, and net revenue for late-stage products.
  • Present recommendations to the US Oncology Leadership Team.
  • Lead contract development with key payers (HMOs, PBMs, VA, DOD, FSS, Medicaid, Oncology GPOs); influence and negotiate across functions and evaluate contract performance.
  • Set patient value and access goals; ensure measures, metrics, and reports are in place; integrate measures into CRM and reporting tools.
  • Train and develop staff in pricing, contracting, and market analytics to build commercial capabilities as the portfolio expands.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 12+ years of relevant experience required.
  • Ability to analyze situations and data, synthesize results, and create recommendations to business problems.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical marketplace with expertise in pricing, market access Nuances for oncology products (oral and injectable).
  • Expert in Government price and Gross to Net calculations; internal consultant to sales, marketing, and CFO.
  • Experience obtaining reimbursement with third-party payers, Medicare Parts D and B, Medicaid, VA/DOD, and integrated payer systems.
  • Understanding of provider-focused reimbursement strategies and pricing methodologies.
  • Strong leadership, strategic planning, decision making, change management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication to convey market access information to executives and staff.
  • Strategic enterprise thinking to serve patients and support the business.
