Head, Global Oncology Pipeline, Medical Affairs

Role: Lead global pipeline medical affairs strategy for AbbVie's oncology and hematology portfolio, focusing on differentiation and lifecycle management from discovery through pre-launch. Responsibilities: develop and oversee medical, value, and evidence strategies across disease areas and geographies; integrate insights from payors, patients, and physicians; co-create brand strategies; serve as decision-maker in pipeline governance; coordinate cross-functional teams including R&D, commercial, and medical engagement; manage resources and transition strategies for pipeline assets; lead gap assessments and evidence planning; define priorities for enterprise research Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs). Requirements: MD or equivalent in oncology/hematology; 15+ years in pharma/biotech with oncology expertise; proven leadership in medical affairs, clinical development, and regulatory aspects; strong knowledge of solid tumor biology, immuno-oncology, targeted therapies, and biomarkers; excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills. Preferred: familiarity with advanced modalities like CAR-T and combination therapies; a robust publication record in onco-hematology; global experience, especially in US and international markets. High-value: oncology/hematology, pipeline and early development focus, cross-geography leadership, scientific expertise in immuno-oncology and biomarkers. Work setup: Hybrid (3x/week), with 25-30% domestic and international travel.
