Role Summary

Head, Dermatology, US Medical Affairs- Immunology, based in Horsham, PA. Senior Director responsible for leading a matrixed team advancing the scientific strategy and business plan for the Dermatology Therapeutic Area within US Medical Affairs Immunology.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Dermatology team and Integrated Evidence Team Lead in developing a strategically and commercially aligned scientific strategy of evidence generation to support all Dermatology assets.
  • Identify, prioritize, and oversee innovative and compliant data dissemination approaches and data generation strategies across evolving healthcare environments (field, congresses, publications, digital platforms).
  • Drive omni-channel and data dissemination plans including digital platforms.
  • Ensure MAF strategy is aligned and executed across global medical affairs including MSLs, Medical Communications, Marketing, and Market access.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners (Global MAF, R&D, Commercial) to drive Dermatology Therapeutic Area strategy execution.
  • Lead Dermatology Therapeutic Area employees within a matrix capable of determining ongoing scientific strategies and tactics.
  • Develop talent and create opportunities for growth across teams.
  • Oversee planning and execution of Phase 3b and 4 clinical trials, post-marketing studies, and other evidence generation activities, including RWE approaches and IIS studies.
  • Contribute as a disease-specific subject matter expert and advise Global Medical Affairs, R&D, Marketing, Sales, Market Access, and other stakeholders; shape strategy based on data and insights.
  • Lead annual Dermatology TA business planning and budget decisions within Medical Affairs Leadership Team guidelines; participate in related leadership and strategy teams.
  • Represent US Affairs in interactions with global functions (clinical R&D, translational medicine, regulatory affairs, labeling, global medical safety) and provide data for regulatory requests.
  • Drive strategy and execution of publications from global and US perspectives.
  • Provide strategic and scientific input on business development opportunities and pipeline assets to ensure scientific rigor in study design and alignment with US strategic requirements.

Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree (PhD, PharmD, and/or MD) required
  • 10-15 years of combined relevant clinical and/or pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Immunology and/or Dermatology therapeutic area experience highly preferred
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience required
  • Experience with clinical research design and conduct of clinical trials desirable; industry R&D experience preferred
  • Previous direct people management experience highly preferred
  • Experience leading Field (MSLs) and in-house Medical Affairs teams desirable
  • Experience leading teams through launch desirable
  • Strong leadership skills with collaborative instincts
  • Clear and effective communication with basic and clinical scientists, as well as regulatory and commercial colleagues
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Experience in a multi-functional matrix organization preferred
  • Up to 25-30% travel (primarily domestic with limited international) required
  • Hybrid schedule: three days in the office and two days remote per week in Horsham, PA
