Role Summary

The Site GPS Practitioner role is responsible for deploying, embedding, and sustaining the GSK Production System (GPS) within the Site to deliver the Business Strategy and to improve Business Performance across Safety, Quality, Service, Cost, & People. As an expert in GPS, they work with manufacturing, labs, warehouse, office-based roles, and leaders up to the Site Leadership Team to develop GPS capability, drive continuous improvement, and deliver significant site objective initiatives. This lean leader acts as a Business Partner to Value Stream Leads to improve GPS maturity and performance, contributing to a zero-waste supply chain through the use of digital, data, analytics, and Lean Leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Role model GPS and lean leadership behaviors and be a subject matter expert in GPS and Six Sigma.
  • Lead Accelerator improvements in Operations with value stream lead partners.
  • Partner with GPS Lead to build and maintain GPS expertise within the Functional Group (Transformation Team).
  • Deliver improvement results aligned to site performance objectives and GPS framework/standards.
  • Support the Site GPS Lead to assess GPS maturity across site, including external assessments.
  • Support Leaders with site strategy definition, deployment, and translations for focused priorities.
  • Lead clarification of problems and align people to solve them; assist in execution of business-critical improvements (lead-time, productivity).
  • Provide training and expert advice on GPS standards; offer high-quality coaching to staff at all levels.
  • Understand and apply digital, data, analytics and/or automation tools where appropriate; collaborate with the SMART manufacturing team as required.

Qualifications

  • Required:
    • Bachelorโ€™s Degree
    • 1+ year of experience with Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations, EHS, SCO, Quality, Laboratory, and/or Strategy
    • 2+ years of operational excellence or lean experience
    • 2+ years of experience in systems management or administrator, with demonstrated leadership in change and transformation
  • Preferred:
    • Green Belt Certification in Lean Six Sigma
    • Post-graduate qualification in Engineering, Lean or Six Sigma
    • Experience with Biopharmaceuticals or other cGMP environments
    • Black Belt Lean/Six Sigma Certification or industry equivalent
    • Experience in coaching or directly leading a team
    • Change Management experience including leadership of complex projects/programs and teams
    • Strong relationship-building and influence at all levels, effective communication, and program planning/execution skills
