Group Leader, Environmental Risk Assessor

Role: Lead the Environmental Risk Assessment (ERA) group within Lilly, overseeing strategy, quality, and timely delivery of environmental studies supporting global regulatory submissions. Responsibilities: set scientific direction, develop environmental scientists, own portfolio ERA testing and study governance, manage CRO partnerships ensuring GLP compliance, and communicate regulatory strategies internally and externally. Advise manufacturing on discharge limits and lead PiE governance, influencing industry standards and policies. Requirements: PhD in environmental or natural sciences; 15+ years in chemical environmental risk assessment in pharma or related industries; expertise in environmental toxicology, environmental fate, OECD studies, and GLPs; strong scientific communication skills. Preferred: cross-functional influence capability, analytical and data interpretation skills, understanding of global environmental policies, and prior pharma or pesticide risk assessment experience.
