Role: Global Therapeutic Research Lead (GTRL) responsible for driving at least three discovery programs from target identification to clinical readiness within Takeda's Gastroenterology and Inflammation (GI DDI) division. Core responsibilities: oversee top-tier drug discovery projects, develop and align project strategies with internal and external stakeholders, manage partnerships, and mentor global research teams. The position involves shaping the early asset pipeline, ensuring integration with therapeutic area strategies, and representing Takeda externally. Requirements: PhD with 15+ years or MS with 21+ years or BS with 23+ years of relevant experience; extensive leadership in drug discovery, particularly in immunology, inflammation, biologics, and multiple modalities; proven success in advancing projects through IND enabling stages and contributing to IND submissions; strong understanding of target validation, hit-to-lead optimization, and preclinical development. Preferred qualifications include experience with biologics and multiple therapeutic modalities, and a track record of delivering clinical assets.
