Role: Global Head of Intellectual Property responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive worldwide IP strategy to protect innovative therapies across modalities such as small molecules and biologics. Responsibilities include managing patent portfolios, trademarks, trade secrets, patent prosecution, enforcement, litigation, and transactional support (licensing, M&A). Key functions involve proactive invention capture, lifecycle management including patent term extensions, and providing Hatch-Waxman counseling for product exclusivity. Leading IP diligence for business deals and overseeing global IP disputes and enforcement also fall under this role. The position entails leading a high-performing in-house team, establishing IP best practices, and fostering cross-functional collaboration. Qualifications: JD from an accredited law school with a PhD or Master's in Chemistry, Biology, or related field preferred; 15+ years of IP legal experience, including 7+ years in the biopharma sector; USPTO registration; deep knowledge of global patent law, biopharmaceutical R&D, and regulatory data protection. Location: Boston, MA, full-time exempt role. The role requires strategic leadership, technical legal expertise, and extensive experience managing global IP portfolios and litigation in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry.
