General Technician - HEPA Technician

Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, test/certify, repair, and troubleshoot HEPA filtration equipment.
- Perform and document HEPA Certifications for UARH, Class I/II Biosafety Cabinets, Air Handler Units, and HEPA Filtered Miscellaneous Equipment.
- Conduct leak checks, velocity spot checks, non-viable particle counts, and airflow pattern tests per procedure.
- Verify equipment/work order numbers, affix certification/defective tags, and manage/maintain certification-support equipment.
- Perform corrective maintenance (e.g., filter repairs/replacements) and support HVAC troubleshooting and airflow conditions.
- Monitor/measure HVAC filter pressure drop; replace as needed.
- Maintain cGMP-compliant work records/logs; use electronic data collection technology.
- Participate in HAZOPs, waste walkthroughs, Kaizen, and other required quality/safety/environment initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- AND one of the following:
- HVAC/Refrigeration trade school/community college (650 hours/6 months emphasis) in AC/refrigeration/electricity/controls + 2 years HEPA certification technician experience performing leak and velocity testing; OR
- HVAC/Refrigeration program (650 hours/6 months) + HEPA certification training + 1 year experience; OR
- DOL-approved AC/Refrigeration Apprentice Program; OR
- Equivalent verified military training + 2 years HEPA leak/velocity testing experience; OR
- Equivalent verified military HVAC apprenticeship + HEPA certification training + 1 year experience; OR
- No formal education + HEPA certification training + 5 years HEPA leak/velocity testing experience.
Desirable:
- Ability to understand HVAC testing/adjusting/balancing.
Special Skills:
- Read HVAC drawings; mechanical aptitude.
