Role Summary

The Gastroenterology Health & Science Sales Specialist is responsible for launching new products, managing business relationships, understanding formulary access, and promoting products within assigned accounts. The role includes sales efforts and relationship development with customers, Therapeutic Area Specialists, and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs). The position requires strong product and disease state knowledge, excellent sales and promotional skills, and effective engagement in both virtual and in-person settings.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement effective virtual and in-person engagement strategies by customer to maximize impact; develop and adapt business and territory call plans based on opportunities.
  • Build and maintain rapport with customers across virtual and face-to-face environments; document call objectives and KPIs; use digital tools effectively and adapt to new tools for successful engagement; leverage analytics for insights and next-best-action planning.
  • Deliver targeted messaging using approved materials to drive product demand; provide insights for new approved product messaging and resources.
  • Educate providers on unbranded and branded product value propositions and disease-state information where applicable.
  • Coordinate with HCPs and office staff to plan engagements in multiple formats (virtual and in-person).
  • Strategically deploy Pfizer resources (samples, vouchers, co-pay resources, patient education) across virtual platforms; integrate guidance from management and cross-functional teams into pre-call planning; plan day-to-day work around schedules; collaborate with CF colleagues and Pfizer Connect team.
  • Support patient access by providing information on reimbursement, PAP, hub programs, and co-pay resources.
  • Present terms of sale and approved language; answer on-label questions; introduce customers to Pfizer on-demand content portals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues to address inquiries; use triaging protocols and digital apps to connect with SMEs as needed.
  • Use calendaring tools and personal insights to address customer priorities; share customer survey insights with leadership to improve models.

Qualifications

  • Must have a Bachelor’s Degree or an associate’s degree with 6+ years of experience; or a high school diploma (or equivalent) with 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of prior pharmaceutical/biotech or medical marketing/promotional/sales experience with leadership across peer groups; demonstrated marketing, promotional, and sales experience in a specialized market with third-party reimbursement and service centers.
  • History of marketing/promotional/sales success, strong territory management, excellent communications, and demonstrated teamwork, leadership, and accountability.
  • Must live within 50 miles of the territory border.
  • Valid US driver’s license; driving record in compliance with company standards. Disqualifying factors include DUI/DWI or other impaired driving within the past 7 years.

  • Experience with thought leaders or high-influence customers in large practices, hospitals, or managed care organizations preferred.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills; ability to analyze data and adapt to new technology to bring Pfizer information to market.
  • Change agility and strong time management, planning, and organizing skills.

Non-standard Work Schedule, Travel Or Environment Requirements

  • Ability to travel to all accounts/office locations within the territory.
  • Overnight travel may be required depending on territory size and business needs.
