Financial Planning & Analysis Manager

Role: Finance Manager supporting Commercial Manufacturing and Tech Ops (CMTO) within Vertex’s Biopharmaceutical Sciences and Manufacturing Operations. Responsibilities: manage financial planning, including budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans; serve as a strategic partner to CMTO/BSMO leadership; provide decision support on investments and resource allocation; oversee financial performance analysis with focus on KPIs; conduct ad hoc scenario modeling; ensure accurate monthly/quarterly accounting close and SOX compliance; manage capital expense budgets; and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve finance processes. Qualifications: B.S. in Finance, Economics, or related field; 6+ years of relevant finance experience, preferably within biotech/pharma industry; strong analytical skills in valuation, ROI, complex business decisions; proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and BI tools; excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. High-Value: role involves strategic financial guidance for biopharma manufacturing, with a hybrid work setup in Boston and some travel. Experience in biotech/pharma industry preferred but not mandatory. Focus on supporting manufacturing, operations, and financial planning functions in a regulated GxP environment.
