Financial Analyst Contractor

Job Overview
Reporting to the Senior Financial Analyst, this role supports the Finance team during annual budgeting and provides additional project-related support to Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), including ad-hoc analysis. Hybrid, based out of San Diego HQ.

Responsibilities
- Assist FP&A with annual budgeting and quarterly forecast processes
- Assist with data cleanup and reconciliation
- Build reports and presentations
- Understand and analyze P&Ls; identify trends to improve forecasting
- Provide timely and accurate financial information to stakeholders
- Conduct monthly budget vs. actual variance analysis
- Maintain and update monthly financial reports for budget owners
- Produce ad-hoc analysis and reporting as necessary

Requirements (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
- At least 1 year of relevant corporate finance or FP&A experience
- Solid understanding of financial reports (primarily P&L)
- Familiarity with FP&A software and ERP platforms (NetSuite and Adaptive preferred, not required)
- Strong Excel skills
- Precise attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to organize, multitask, and prioritize in a deadline-driven environment

Preferred
- R&D biotech/pharma experience

Compensation/Benefits
- Anticipated base pay: $35 per hour
