The objective of the US Demand Planning team is to monitor and maintain the stability of AbbVie product in the U.S. supply channel, ensure the equitable allocation of product to customers, and provide business insights on wholesaler & specialty pharmacy purchase trends across AbbVie’s Immunology brands. The Director, Demand Planning Immunology, will lead project management and oversee technical areas including financial modeling, data organization, AbbVie’s distribution network, and contract administration/compliance. This role will communicate with internal cross-functional partners and regularly with external wholesale and pharmacy customers.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Immunology stakeholders to identify product trends and provide channel insights linked to multiple data sources.
- Communicate with external wholesale and major pharmacy customers to gain insights on product purchase trends, inventory levels, and dispensing; present business impact to AbbVie leadership using enhanced data analytics.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives within scope, including data management and analytical modeling.
- Develop familiarity with Distribution Service Agreements, including wholesaler contractual terms and applicable business use cases.
- Review actual DSA performance and metric achievement for compensation.
- Support “to-market” volume projection in collaboration with Brand Forecasting and APEX.
- Leverage channel modeling tools and create ad hoc analytics to provide visibility into supply channel dynamics and drivers.
- Manage staff executing Distribution Service Agreements and daily Immunology supply channel activities; own supervision and development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting (advanced degree a plus); commercial finance, cost accounting, auditing, financial reporting, or FP&A experience.
- 12+ years progressive Accounting/Finance with 5+ years management experience.
- Experience in complex global organizations; pharmaceutical sector experience a plus.
- Strong Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint; SAP; scenario planning; data presentation/storytelling.
- Demonstrated project management and analytical skills.
- Experience working in a matrix organization; build partnerships and access resources.
- Flexibility with changing priorities; integrity; process improvement/change management experience; ability to manage multiple priorities.
