Director, Alliance Accounting
Responsibilities:
- Lead month-end close for a portfolio of commercialized licensing arrangements, ensuring accurate global royalty income/expense recording and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Oversee accurate processing of royalty, profit-share, and milestone payments, including collection of inbound royalties and milestone payments.
- Maintain and update an inventory of commercial milestones; reassess expected timing; prepare milestone cash flow forecasts; oversee milestone payment package preparation.
- Support commercial planning cycles by forecasting global royalty expense and responding to ad hoc requests.
- Partner with Alliance Management to collect, consolidate, and review internal non-R&D financial information and coordinate information exchange with alliance partners and internal stakeholders.
- Serve as finance lead for joint commercial and strategic committee groups.
- Act as subject matter expert for the financial aspects of licensing agreements.
- Support Legal with ad hoc requests related to licensing agreements.
- Support internal/external audits by providing requested data and documentation.
- Partner with Business Development to review new licensing agreements and mitigate accounting/reporting risks.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of 10 (including two direct reports).
Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA and/or MBA preferred (not required).
- 7β10 years of progressive Finance/Accounting experience.
- Prior supervisory experience leading/developing a team.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal/communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
- Proactive, independent thinking and strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Workiva.
- Experience with large-scale ERP/planning systems (BPC, SAP) preferred.
