Role Summary
Field Reimbursement Manager (Louisiana Region) responsible for eliminating access barriers, educating on prior authorization processes, and addressing roadblocks to improve conversion rates and treatment adherence. Works at a territory level with knowledge of the local landscape, in a field-based capacity within the assigned geography.
Responsibilities
- Educate customers and staff regarding payer policies and processes supporting patient access (eligibility and benefit verification, prior authorization, and appeals/denials)
- Build strong relationships with customers by understanding their needs and delivering solutions to overcome obstacles
- Serve as an expert on Axsome patient support programs, payer utilization management, access issue resolution, and financial assistance
- Collaborate with Managed Markets and Sales to address challenges and opportunities with patient access
- Assist in educating sales colleagues on product access and patient support programs as needed
- Develop and maintain knowledge of the local and national payer landscape
- Engage with customers in both virtual and live settings
- Communicate territory activity accurately and timely as directed by management
- Overnight travel as required by business needs
- Ensure all reimbursement activities comply with applicable legal and regulatory guidelines
- Additional responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelorโs Degree required; graduate degree preferred
- Minimum of 8 years of healthcare, field customer, and/or account management experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with at least 2 years as an FRM or RAM working with retail medications (neurology experience preferred)
- Must reside in the territoryโs geography
- Ability to travel up to 50-75% (including overnight travel)
Experience, Knowledge And Skills
- Current or recent CNS experience strongly preferred
- Experience working with multiple cross-functional teams
- Previous entrepreneurial/launch experience preferred
- Pharmacy benefit knowledge, including payer criteria for prior authorization
- Knowledge of payer segments (e.g., Commercial, Medicare Part D)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under aggressive timelines in a dynamic environment
- Proven track record of delivering results
- Ability to work independently, manage travel schedules, and coordinate visits (territory management)
- Proficiency in both virtual and live customer engagements
