Responsibilities:
- Manage defined accounts within a specified geographic region for Patient Access and Reimbursement; execute the territory strategic plan.
- Provide live one-on-one HUB coverage support.
- Support the reimbursement journey from physician order through payer prior authorization, appeals/denials, and required forms.
- Review patient-specific information for site-requested assistance with coverage issues.
- Educate and update healthcare providers (HCPs) on private/public payer coverage and changes affecting patient access.
- Coordinate access/reimbursement issues with relevant partners, including the HUB.
- Serve as payer expert for the assigned geography and communicate payer changes to key stakeholders.
- Provide office education on formulary coverage/utilization management, insurance forms/procedures, benefits investigation, prior authorization, appeals, and claims resolution.
- Review patient insurance benefit options and alternate funding/financial assistance programs.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve reimbursement issues.
Qualifications:
- Doctorate OR Master’s + 3 years customer service/leadership OR Bachelor’s + 5 years OR Associate’s + 10 years OR High school/GED + 12 years.
- Experience directly managing people and/or leading teams/projects/programs or directing resource allocation.
- Minimum 2 years in third-party access arena or pharmaceutical industry (managed care, clinical support, and/or sales).
- Strong medical reimbursement and/or Specialty Pharmacy and Buy & Bill knowledge.
- Proven presentation/facilitation; strong written/oral communication.
- Organizational/project management skills; manage multiple projects.
- Computer literacy (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to conduct web meetings.
- Healthcare industry experience (insurance verification, claim adjudication, physician offices/clinics, pharmacies, manufacturers).
- Hub experience; billing/coding/appeals knowledge across physician types.
- Experience with commercial payers, Medicare, and state Medicaid in the region.
- Live in the geography or within 10 miles of the border.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in business/healthcare/related field.
- Experience with specialty/biologic self-injectable (pharmacy benefit) or physician-administered (buy & bill/medical benefit) products.
- Advanced medical insurance terminology; CMS policies/processes (Medicare Part B and Part D).
- Ability to manage ambiguity/problem-solve and manage expenses within budgets.
Working Conditions:
- 3 days/week in geography for customer appointments; remote/work from home; 1–2 home office days/week.
- Travel up to 60–80%; valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
