Role Summary

Field Reimbursement Manager (California Region) responsible for eliminating access barriers, educating on prior authorization processes, and addressing roadblocks for eligible patients to enhance conversion rates and treatment adherence. This is a field-based role requiring territory-level responsibilities and knowledge of the local landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Educate customers and staff regarding payer policies and processes supporting patient access (eligibility/benefit verification, prior authorization, and appeals/denials)
  • Build strong relationships with customers by understanding their needs and delivering solutions to overcome obstacles
  • Act as an expert on Axsome patient support programs, payer utilization management, access issue resolution, and financial assistance
  • Collaborate with Managed Markets and Sales to address challenges and opportunities with patient access
  • Educate sales colleagues on product access and patient support programs as needed
  • Maintain knowledge of the local and national payer landscape
  • Engage with customers virtually and in person
  • Report territory activity accurately and timely as directed by management
  • Overnight travel as required by business needs
  • Ensure all reimbursement activities comply with applicable legal and regulatory guidelines
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelorโ€šร„รดs Degree required; graduate degree preferred
  • Minimum of 8 years in healthcare, field customer, and/or account management in the pharmaceutical industry with at least 2 years as an FRM or RAM working with retail medications (neurology experience preferred)
  • Residence in the territory geographical area
  • Ability to travel up to 50-75% (including overnight)

Experience, Knowledge And Skills

  • Current or recent CNS experience strongly preferred
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Entrepreneurial experience with product launches preferred
  • Pharmacy benefit knowledge; ability to educate on payer criteria for prior authorization
  • Understanding of payer segments (Commercial, Medicare Part D)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight timelines
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering results
  • Ability to work independently, manage travel schedules, and plan territory visits
  • Proficiency in both virtual and in-person engagements
