Role Summary

The Field Medical Director (FMD) supports BeOne pipeline development by coordinating external collaborations and research with healthcare providers and academicians, while ensuring internal partnership across the organization. This role reports to the Senior Regional Director, Hematology, within Medical Affairs. The FMD develops regional strategies to sustain compliant relationships with opinion leaders, research collaborators, and key organizations to support BeOne’s solid tumor or hematology pipelines, with pre-launch and post-launch Medical Affairs support.

Responsibilities

  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop robust territory plans that inform HCPs and improve patient outcomes
  • Establish and maintain scientifically credible peer-to-peer relationships with national and regional opinion leaders and other healthcare providers
  • Facilitate and monitor strategic partnerships with scientific/clinical experts; serve as a point of contact with organizations including guideline development, cooperative groups, and other national cancer institutions
  • Serve as an internal resource of clinical and scientific information from medical interactions
  • Provide feedback to internal stakeholders on emerging clinical and scientific trends
  • Nominate sites to Clinical Operations to participate in clinical research
  • Contribute to or perform therapeutic area/indication research and competitor analysis
  • Assist in the development and execution of clinically relevant regional medical meetings
  • Identify and verify investigators and sites for company-sponsored trials
  • Serve as a liaison for the submission and review of Investigator Sponsored Research proposals
  • Support major and regional congresses engaging thought leaders
  • Collaborate to provide balanced information to regional formulary decision makers and/or P&T committee members
  • Build strong relationships with internal experts
  • Identify continuous process improvement opportunities; develop and report on goals and objectives
  • Support Medical Affairs budget planning and management; ensure compliant business practices

Qualifications

  • Education: MD, PharmD, PhD, or DO, or NP, PA, Master’s Degree within a clinical/scientific profession
  • Required: MD/PharmD/PhD/DO or NP/PA with 5+ years of clinical experience in biotech/pharmaceuticals; or Master’s with 7+ years in biotech/pharmaceuticals
  • Clinical oncology experience in hematology/oncology; strong potential to apply skills to oncology if from another therapeutic area
  • Relationships with relevant HCPs in the region
  • Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, organizational, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Flexibility to work globally; travel approximately 60-70%
  • Ability to interpret scientific data and translate findings to educational/research needs; understanding of research study design and strategic implications
  • Knowledge of health care delivery, managed care, and its impact on patient care and pharmacology
  • Ability to identify unmet medical, educational, and research needs regionally; ability to drive corporate research initiatives
  • Emotional intelligence; appreciation of diversity and multiculturalism
  • Project management skills; ability to manage projects and teams; strong time management

Education
