Role Overview
- Support patients by enhancing access to therapies across Takeda’s portfolio. Act as a trusted educational resource to healthcare providers and institutions to address patient access barriers. Reports to the Regional Director, Patient Access, GI Central.
Objectives and Responsibilities
- Optimize patient access by educating providers on reimbursement and patient access challenges to ensure timely therapy access.
- Deliver tailored, field-based reimbursement education to healthcare stakeholders; anticipate and address access challenges.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with healthcare organizations to identify and resolve reimbursement/patient access issues.
- Educate internal teams to address complex reimbursement and patient access scenarios.
- Stay current on healthcare policies, reimbursement trends, and regulatory requirements to proactively address access barriers.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 5+ years of field-based experience in account management, sales, or medical affairs.
- Strong knowledge of the reimbursement landscape and practice management environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and execute account-based strategies for patient access outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Expertise in account management, relationship development, and issue resolution.
- Strong interpersonal skills and flexibility.
Desired
- 5+ years in patient services or reimbursement roles (pharma/biotech/rare disease).
- Experience in healthcare policy, reimbursement, or market access.
- Familiarity with buy-and-bill and pharmacy models.
- Experience with specialty/high-cost therapies in chronic or acute care.
Location/Travel
- Michigan (including Detroit); field-based, up to 75% travel; Michigan—Virtual.
Compensation/Benefits (as stated)
- Base salary range: $152,000–$209,000.
- Potential incentives; medical/dental/vision, 401(k) with match, disability, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, holidays, well-being benefits, up to 80 hours sick time/year, and up to 120 hours paid vacation for new hires.
