Position Summary:
Family Support Educator β Lead is a field-based role providing leadership support to a team of Family Support Educators (FSEs), serving as a dedicated point of contact to Rett families for on-label clinical education and product education. Requires up to 70% travel.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and coach FSEs to educate on disease state, product, and ongoing therapy management.
- Execute strategic and tactical initiatives.
- Act as primary escalation point for FSE issues; primary contact for Regional Directors, National Sales Director, AIR, MSL, and Case Management/Hub leadership.
- Provide expert insights to internal stakeholders to address educational gaps and improve disease state education and therapy management strategies.
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of disease state, product, and Acadia Customer Support Programs (e.g., Hub-related and Patient Assistance Programs, ambassador speaker programs).
- Build relationships with local/regional/national advocacy groups.
- Identify education messaging needs and lead compliant planning/execution with cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate with the Rare Disease National Director on FSE training/onboarding, Patient Support Services initiatives, team evolution, and performance metrics.
- Mentor and develop team members; oversee hiring, performance management, and promotions in compliance with policies/values.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelorβs degree; targeted 8 years relevant experience (e.g., Pharmaceutical Sales, Access, National Accounts, Specialty Pharmacy, Nursing), with access/reimbursement expertise; MBA a plus.
- Minimum 3 years recent leadership experience.
- Rare disease, new product launch, Advocacy, Medicaid/Medicare strongly preferred.
Required/Preferred Skills:
- Patient-centric mindset; emotional intelligence and empathy.
- Strong organizational/time management; field healthcare understanding.
- Market access knowledge (patient services programs; commercial/government plans).
- New product launch success; HIPAA understanding.
- Strong written/verbal/presentation skills; budget expense management.
- Cross-functional collaboration; travel up to 70%.
Scope:
Guides/manage departmental functions to achieve goals; sets operational objectives/work plans with senior management review.
Physical Requirements:
Regular standing/walking/sitting; may reach/climb/stoop/kneel/crouch; lift up to 20 lbs; independent overnight travel and after-hours work as needed.
Compensation/Benefits (as stated):
- Salary range: $168,000β$210,000 USD.
- Eligible for discretionary bonus and equity awards.
