Role: Executive Medical Director, Global Medical Lead (GML), Nephrology, overseeing global medical strategy and activities for designated nephrology indications. Responsibilities include developing and executing integrated medical plans, leading scientific communications, engaging external medical experts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Clinical Development, HEOR, and Commercial. The GML serves as the primary scientific expert, manages global medical affairs teams, and represents Vertex at industry forums. They lead evidence generation efforts, including lifecycle studies and real-world evidence, and oversee medical content review and stakeholder communication. The role involves strategic oversight of medical KPIs, budget management, and ensuring compliance with GxP and regulatory standards. Collaboration with regional teams and participation in key global strategic forums are critical. Qualifications: MD, PhD, PharmD, or advanced life sciences degree; 10+ years of industry experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within medical affairs or clinical development; significant experience in nephrology or relevant therapeutic areas; strong scientific expertise and external engagement skills.
