Position Summary
Responsible for driving sales, developing business, and addressing customer needs within an assigned long-term care (LTC) territory. Manages relationships with prescribers, pharmacists, facility decision-makers, and other LTC care team members to ensure appropriate patients are identified, started, and maintained on therapy.
Primary Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with the LTC resident care team (physicians, NP/PA, consultant/dspensing pharmacists, nursing facility leadership/staff).
- Promote Acadia products with compliant clinical, disease state, and reimbursement education tailored to customers.
- Address customer questions/objections using advanced selling skills.
- Use knowledge of customers and local/regional market trends to drive business planning.
- Create and execute quarterly territory business/action plans using data to maximize reach and impact within budget.
- Advise on pricing, reimbursement, and LTC profitability parameters; liaison for access-related questions.
- Collaborate with sales management and cross-functional partners (managed markets, marketing, operations, training).
- Represent Acadia at conferences, product launches, and training; contribute to regional/national initiatives.
- Mentor and train new/junior Sales Specialists.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory and LTC requirements related to medication use and resident care.
Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree required; life sciences preferred.
- Sales Specialist: 1β2 years pharma/healthcare sales (neuroscience preferred).
- Sr. Specialist: 5+ years healthcare sales (2+ in complex/account-based selling).
- Executive Specialist: 12+ years healthcare sales (3+ in complex/account-based selling).
- Advanced selling/negotiation; ability to influence diverse HCP audiences.
- Regional leadership/mentorship experience.
- Business acumen, strong organization, self-motivation.
- Reside within territory (or within 30 miles of border) and near a major airport if required.
- Valid driverβs license; travel independently by air; up to 80% travel, including overnight/after-hours.
- Meet vaccination and facility access requirements.
