Position Summary
Executive Director/Vice President of Commercial Operations to establish and lead operational aspects of commercial strategy for launch of the companyโs first rare disease therapy. Home office; requires minimum of 3 days/week in the office.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute commercial strategy and operations plans as part of the Commercial Leadership Team.
- Build and execute commercial operations infrastructure for a successful rare disease product launch.
- Lead commercial planning (sales forecasting, demand planning, incentive compensation design, territory alignment).
- Build and oversee sales operations team and systems (CRM, data warehousing, reporting dashboards).
- Establish data governance; manage third-party data vendors (claims, specialty pharmacy, distribution).
- Partner cross-functionally with Market Access, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Finance, and IT.
- Design/manage KPIs and reporting frameworks.
- Lead field force enablement (CRM configuration, targeting, call planning, field reporting).
- Support compliant commercial policies/processes with Legal and Compliance.
- Manage operational budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships.
Qualifications
- Bachelorโs degree required; MBA/advanced degree preferred.
- 10+ years commercial operations experience in biopharma; 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Launch planning/execution experience in rare disease or specialty products.
- Deep understanding of commercial data sources (specialty pharmacy, HUB/patient services, claims data).
- Demonstrated ability to build commercial infrastructure in high-growth/startup environments.
- Strong project management, communication, and cross-functional leadership; familiarity with rare-disease compliance.

Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary anticipated: $290,000โ$340,000 (depends on location/qualifications).
- Eligible for annual performance bonus.
