Role: Executive Director, Neurology Clinical Development at Ionis, providing strategic and operational leadership for neurologic disorder programs, including rare pediatric populations. Responsibilities: oversee clinical trial planning/execution, develop and refine development strategies, lead regulatory interactions, interpret data, and manage cross-functional teams across Clinical Development, Research, Regulatory, and Medical Affairs. Guide early-stage transition from preclinical to first-in-human studies, design clinical protocols, and ensure high-quality execution aligned with regulatory requirements. Cultivate relationships with key opinion leaders, investigators, and external partners, while mentoring team members and managing budgets. Qualifications: MD, PhD, PharmD, or related advanced degree with 15+ years in biopharma, including proven leadership in early to mid-stage clinical programs, especially in neurodevelopmental, pediatric neurology, or genetic disorders. Strong experience designing studies involving small or heterogeneous patient populations, natural history, biomarkers, and rare diseases. Demonstrated success with regulatory submissions, external collaborations, and team development.
