Role Summary

Executive Director, Communications to design, build, and lead the company’s integrated communications strategy. This role will serve as the architect of Kymera’s internal and external voice, developing a cohesive narrative that reflects the company’s scientific vision, clinical progress, corporate strategy, and culture. The role reports to the CFO and partners closely with the CEO and Executive Team, serving as a senior advisor on all communications matters and aligning with employees, investors, media, patients, partners, and the broader scientific community.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the creation and execution of a holistic communications strategy that supports near- and long-term objectives.
  • Own narrative development, media relations, digital and social strategy, executive visibility, investor messaging in collaboration with IR, and internal communications.
  • Oversee the corporate website, drive content strategy across digital channels, and manage the external communications agency.
  • Guide disclosure planning for milestones including data readouts, regulatory events, and conference participation; collaborate with Medical Affairs on scientific and patient-facing content.
  • Own the company’s communications infrastructure, including oversight of the intranet, and partner cross-functionally to reinforce values and culture.
  • Directly manage a communications team member and oversee departmental goals, performance metrics, and budget.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, ideally in biotechnology or the broader life sciences industry
  • Proven experience leading internal and external communications, including digital and social strategy, media relations, and executive visibility
  • Track record of success partnering with senior leadership and investor relations in a public company environment
  • Experience supporting communications for clinical data readouts, scientific conferences, and regulatory milestones
  • Ability to translate complex science and data into compelling and accessible content for diverse audiences
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive mindset and the ability to operate both at a high level and hands-on
  • Prior experience managing vendors and agencies; budget management experience required
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams and coaching senior leaders on communications best practices
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in communications, journalism, or life sciences a plus
