Role Summary

Equipment Engineering Technician II responsible for the reliable and efficient operation of critical manufacturing and distribution equipment for radioactive products, directly supporting production schedules and adherence to quality and safety standards. This role is based in Massachusetts with on-site presence three days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Equipment Mastery & Troubleshooting: Proactively identifies and resolves manufacturing equipment challenges related to operation, maintenance, change control, and validation. Leverages expertise across mechanical, electrical, control systems, process control, validation, and safety. Diagnoses and troubleshoots malfunctions, performing repairs, calibration, and overhaul as needed. Monitors process data to identify trends, predict problems, and optimize performance. Performs technical troubleshooting on various modalities and equipment across the facility.
  • Maintenance Execution & Optimization: Sets priorities and performs preventive maintenance and emergency repairs. Optimizes processing and reduces downtime through predictive and preventative maintenance and participation in new equipment installations. Coordinates and performs maintenance activities to balance maintenance and production needs. Assists in qualification activities related to instrumentation and process improvement projects. Reviews PM tasks for effectiveness and frequency, recommending improvements. Drives continuous improvement in maintenance execution.
  • Documentation & Compliance: Writes and revises manufacturing, testing, maintenance, and provisional process documentation. Completes documentation in compliance with cGMPs using CMMS and Document Management Systems. Maintains records of maintenance, calibration, inspections, and related activities. Adheres to safety practices and complies with cGMP, QSR, and ISO standards.
  • Collaboration & Leadership: Utilizes technical knowledge to resolve problems, leads project teams or major repair efforts, and participates in fault-finding and root-cause analysis investigations. Provides technical support to team members and collaborates with Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, and other support teams.
  • Safety & Quality Focus: Promotes safety, reports hazards, and ensures high quality at product release. Maintains a safe work environment by following safety SOPs and PPE requirements.
  • Other Duties: Provides coverage for off-hours and holidays to support 24/7 operations. Upholds Lantheus values.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance).
  • Preferably more than 5 years of related experience in a pharmaceutical or similarly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Proven ability to interpret blueprints and schematic drawings.
  • Strong electrical, mechanical, and troubleshooting skills, including PLC knowledge.
  • Experience with GMP documentation requirements and quality systems.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Ability to work in a sterile environment and adhere to strict hygiene and sanitation protocols.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting 10-35 lbs and other movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, climbing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.
  • Ability to adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions. Ability to work safely with power tools. Willingness to work overtime as needed.
