Role Summary

Environmental Monitoring Lab Technician at Pfizer. You will contribute to the quality and compliance culture that supports the delivery of safe and effective products to patients. Your work may involve development, maintenance, compliance, or research analysis, with a direct impact on patients through accurate testing, data interpretation, and collaboration with the team.

Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for individual contributions to achieve team deliverables, working effectively as a team member and coordinating with others.
  • Manage personal time and professional development, being accountable for results.
  • Follow standard procedures to complete tasks of varying scope, sequence, and complexity within the agreed timeframe.
  • Identify and solve moderately routine problems.
  • Complete assignments with general supervision using established procedures, referring deviations from standard procedures to the supervisor.
  • Ensure work is reviewed for accuracy, quality, and adherence to standards.
  • Maintain laboratory compliance, accurately interpret and evaluate data for precision and trends, and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
  • Perform, document, and troubleshoot qualitative or quantitative assays using standard and advanced laboratory techniques, ensuring reagents and reference standards are valid and stored correctly.
  • Conduct testing for semi-finished and finished goods, validation samples, and other tests according to approved procedures, recording results promptly, and communicate technical information to internal and external customers.
  • Train and support less experienced analysts, serving as a mentor.

Qualifications

  • Required: A High School Diploma or GED.
  • Required: Intellectual capability to perform complex mathematical problems and complex data analysis.
  • Required: Consistently ensures precision and quality in work output.
  • Required: Strong organizational skills.
  • Required: Ability to multi-task across various projects and activities.
  • Required: Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Required: Effective oral and written communications, and excellent inter-personal skills.
  • Required: Self-motivated and able to work with minimal direction.

Education

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree, science preferred (preferred).

Skills

  • Laboratory techniques and testing experience, including qualitative and quantitative assays.
  • Ability to interpret data, identify trends, and communicate results effectively.
  • Knowledge of aseptic techniques, microbiology, and cGMP requirements (preferred).
  • Proficiency with laboratory information systems or related computerized systems (preferred).
  • Mentoring and training abilities for new hires (preferred).

Additional Requirements

  • Physical/mental: Ability to stand for extended periods, work in controlled environments with PPE, aseptically gown, and lift up to 30 lbs.
