Role Summary
Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability - Grad Go-Op (January – December 2026). Six-month Co-Op assignment within Amgen’s EHSS department at the Thousand Oaks, CA headquarters.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the continuous improvement of EHSS compliance programs (e.g., Biosafety, Environmental Compliance, Ergonomics, Hearing Conservation, Industrial Safety, Radiation Safety and Respiratory Protection).
- Assist in the assessment of physical and chemical hazards and implementation of control strategies.
- Assist with providing support for the Ergonomics program including performing ergonomic assessments.
- Perform audits and inspections (e.g., regulated waste, compliance inspections).
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Required: 18 years or older; Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university; Currently enrolled in an MBA/Master’s/PharmD/PhD program and completion of the first year prior to internship; Enrollment in an accredited college or university following the internship; Must not be employed at the start; United States residency for the duration of the Co-op.
- Preferred: Degree concentrations in Environmental and Occupational Health, Environmental Sciences or Industrial Hygiene; Experience with industrial hygiene instrumentation; Knowledge of Cal/OSHA, OSHA and EPA regulations; Working knowledge of industrial hygiene principles and practices; Strong written, verbal and organizational skills; Ability to prioritize effectively in a rapidly evolving environment.
