Role Summary

UHG Enterprise Account Director, Commercial and Medicare GPO/PBM (Emisar/OptumRx). Lead contact responsible for Emisar, OptumRx (Commercial and Medicare PBMs); execute strategic positioning, deliver brand value propositions, negotiate formulary access, and manage business relationships. Travel required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure optimal formulary access for GSK products within Emisar and OptumRx National Commercial and Medicare formularies.
  • Develop and lead strategy to meet or exceed goals of GSK products with alignment across Business Units, Finance, Pricing and Contracting, and Market Access Leadership.
  • Lead the development of internal business case documents focusing on account-specific strategy and financial objectives.
  • Lead the execution of GSK's Pharmacy and Medical Benefit contracts.
  • Understand customers' organizational goals to assess needs and develop plans/programs for both customer and GSK.
  • Champion an “Enterprise Mindset” and collaborate with Enterprise teammates to foster innovative market approaches.
  • Collaborate with other Enterprise Account Directors and internal stakeholders responsible for Emisar/OptumRx across channels (Trade, Specialty Pharmacy, Vaccines).
  • Interface with Pricing and Contracting, Market Access Strategy, Access and Reimbursement Managers, and Contract Management to maximize product access and pull-through.
  • Work with Contract Analyst Manager and Enterprise Market Analytics Director to develop Business Case Documents for internal pricing and contract reviews.
  • Collaborate with Contract Development Manager on contract terms and execution of Pharmacy and Medical Benefit Contracts.
  • Maintain knowledge of the managed care industry, healthcare trends, and trends in Respiratory, Oncology, Specialty and Vaccines; ensure compliance with CPP.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 5+ years of pharmaceutical experience
  • 3+ years of account management, contracting, sales management, or product management experience
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Preferred: GPO/PBM contracting experience; payer marketing/contract management experience; MBA or advanced clinical/science degree; deep knowledge of Specialty, Oncology, and Vaccine payer/distribution; understanding of reimbursement and PBM control mechanisms; strong negotiation, account management, and relationship-building skills; analytical, communication, and presentation skills; ability to meet strategic objectives
