Role: Process Safety Engineer supporting the Lilly Medicine Foundry's operational readiness and ongoing safety compliance. Responsibilities: facilitate equipment and chemistry Process Hazard Reviews (PHRs), drive resolution of PHR actions, support Pre-Startup Safety Reviews, manage elements of the Process Safety Management program, assist front-line operations with process safety questions, contribute to safety information generation, support management of change processes, perform safety calculations, investigate events, and assist with safety training and audits. Requirements: Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering or related field, 2+ years in Process or Process Safety Engineering within pharma or chemical industries, authorized to work in the U.S. Preferred: experience with HAZOP or What-If analyses, reactive chemistry hazard evaluation, and overpressure protection basics. High-value specifics include involvement with advanced manufacturing, chemical process safety, and supporting rapid tech transfer activities in a biotech environment. Collaboration with scientists, engineers, operators, and safety teams is integral. Location: Carmel, Indiana, with permanent placement at the Lebanon, Indiana Lilly Medicine Foundry; work involves PPE in manufacturing/lab areas, with 24/7 operational support via cell phone.
