Role Summary

EMTB/EMTA or Paramedic — Center Medical Specialist at a Grifols plasma donation center. You will perform donor physical examinations and medical history reviews to determine donor suitability, educate donors on general health, and manage donor injuries or adverse events. You will maintain donor and staff confidentiality and contribute to donor safety and education, with opportunities for training and career growth. Location: Taylorsville, Utah, USA.

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical examination and establish medical history to determine donor suitability.
  • Build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure donor and staff confidentiality.
  • Responsible for donor awareness to potential hazards.
  • Provide donor education regarding general health and provide counseling regarding unacceptable test results.
  • Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events.
  • Perform evaluations of any history of illness or medications to ensure continued donor suitability.
  • Assist in employee training.
  • Administer employee Hepatitis Vaccine program.

Qualifications

  • Required: Educated and currently certified/licensed in the state of employment as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Paramedic, or EMT. Current CPR certification required.

Education

  • Licensure as EMT-B, EMT-A, Paramedic, or RN/LPN/LVN per state requirements; CPR certification.

Additional Requirements

  • Physical demands: Standing and sitting for up to 2–4 hours per day; bending/twisting; frequent hand movement; light lifting up to 50 lbs; hearing and vision requirements; color perception; exposure to biological fluids; cold environments; PPE required.
  • Work environment: Plasma center; potential exposure to infectious materials and electrical equipment.
