Electromechanical Technician Associate, Apprentice Program, US, 2026
Responsibilities
- Developing hands-on mechanical, electrical, control and instrumentation skills
- Learning how to maintain production equipment
- Carrying out routine maintenance
- Diagnosing and resolving breakdowns
- Assisting with the design, install and testing of new equipment
- Consistently operating to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
- Maintaining and calibrating a wide range of equipment to ensure continual production of accurate and precise results
- Looking for ways to improve safety, efficiency and quality of our manufacturing processes
Qualifications
- Required: High School diploma or equivalent by June 2026; GPA 2.5 or above; Algebra/Geometry or equivalent math; English; Biology and Chemistry; 0–30 college credits
- Preferred: AP Biology or Chemistry; more than one life science; High School Physics; High School Pre-Calculus; Engineering/technology/STEM courses in high school
- Other: Must be at least 18 by August 1, 2026; <2 years of related work experience since high school; willingness to enroll with partnering community college/technical institution; daily commute to site within 60 minutes
Skills
- Hands-on mechanical, electrical, control and instrumentation skills
- Problem solving and diagnostic abilities
- Maintenance and calibration of equipment; adherence to GMP
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in Engineering Science to be pursued part-time at Montgomery County Community College
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to commute daily to GSK worksite and instruction facility
