Role Summary
Electrical Engineer at GSK in the New England Region (USA - Massachusetts - Cambridge). The role focuses on delivering electrical facilities and services in compliance with engineering standards and regulatory requirements, aiming to meet cost, quality, and compliance metrics through effective management with contract partners.
Responsibilities
- Identify and implement improvements, design changes or modifications to automation/mechanical systems, equipment or procedures to support the business in following established change control processes
- Conduct site management monitoring tasks and site GEMBAs to ensure service partner and third-party contractor work complies with national, local, and GSK standards
- Manage improvement programs from audit findings, CAPA, EHS alerts, Preventable Disruptions, sustainability objectives
- Execute site assessments against GSK Engineering Policies and Standards
- Manage risk mitigation plans/actions in the Risk Management Systems to bring gaps to acceptable levels (as low as reasonably practicable)
- Lead investigations and mitigation plans for significant service failures, major audit findings, dispute resolution, and process improvements; champion engineering standards and process improvements from RDES; identify EHS risk reduction and environmental sustainability opportunities
- Ensure compliance with Quality and Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) requirements and maintain a safe, inspection-ready engineering workspace
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelorโs degree in electrical engineering or a related field such as a science degree
- Required: 5+ yearsโ experience delivering electrical facilities and services
- Required: Experience aligning electrical facilities and services with local business needs and priorities
- Required: Experience managing cost, quality, and compliance metrics for electrical services
- Required: Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Masterโs degree in electrical engineering or a related field
- Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry
- Familiarity with clean utility systems and industrial utilities
- Proficiency in electrical design and analysis software
- Experience managing projects and working with cross-functional teams
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of electrical facilities and services; implement improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards; provide technical expertise and guidance on electrical systems
- Ability to address and resolve technical issues promptly; maintain clear communication with stakeholders
- Knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations; experience with electrical system design, troubleshooting, and maintenance
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail; ability to work collaboratively in a team
