Role Overview
Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Sr. Specialist (Third Shift) supporting EHS programs within a commercial sterile GMP cell therapy manufacturing facility. Hands-on work across production floor, laboratories, warehouse, and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical/regulatory support for chemical handling, biosafety, facilities-related safety, hazardous/biohazardous waste, and industrial hygiene.
- Represent EHS in site Tier meetings.
- Conduct EHS inspections (cleanroom, warehouse, lab); drive corrective action closure.
- Support emergency response (first aid, spill response); maintain First Responder CPR/AED certification.
- Support Permit to Work and contractor safety; ensure safe work practices.
- Perform incident investigations, cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Develop/deliver EHS training (ILT/CBT) and toolbox talks; support injury management.
- Perform Job Hazard Analyses; ensure waste management program compliance.
- Monitor KPIs/dashboards; drive near-miss reporting actions.
- Maintain EHS records; drive continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Operations, Engineering & Facilities, and Quality.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Associate Degree (or equivalent experience/certification) in Engineering, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Studies, Life Sciences, or similar; BA/BS preferred. OSHA 10/30 training a plus.
- 5–7 years relevant EHS experience; GMP/manufacturing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of EPA/OSHA/DEP and guidance from NIOSH/ACGIH/NFPA/ANSI/ISO.
- OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens and general biosafety knowledge.
- 3rd Shift: Sun night–Fri morning, 10:00 PM–6:30 AM or 11PM–7:30AM.
- Strong communication, analytical/problem-solving, conflict resolution; cross-functional teamwork.
- Independent, organized, detail-oriented; Microsoft Office proficient.
- Ability to gown for cleanroom and use respiratory protection.
Benefits / Pay (as stated)
- Base pay: $96,267–$120,000. Performance-based bonus and/or equity (eligible roles).
