Role: EH&S Manager (Redmond, WA; support Seattle, WA)
Responsibilities:
- Manage development and implementation of environmental, health, and safety programs to meet regulatory and corporate objectives.
- Improve environmental and safety awareness via communication mechanisms.
- Coordinate incident investigations with leaders/stakeholders to create actions that reduce risk and address process gaps.
- Lead Redmond efforts to implement digital tools for risk assessment, inspection oversight, and chemical management.
- Lead contractor safety: vet high-risk activities and ensure contractors are trained for onsite work.
- Support gap analyses for local policies vs. U.S. and Global policies.
- Support Safety Committee Chairs to meet charter and team objectives.
- Lead and train the Redmond Emergency Response Team for emergency readiness.
- Maintain EH&S records, data, and metrics for Redmond.
- Perform inspections to support safety and environmental compliance.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 years of EHS experience.
- Bachelorβs degree in occupational safety, Environmental Science, or related field; or scientific degree plus formal EHS training.
- Pharmaceutical/biotech/life sciences EHS experience preferred.
- Experience in lab safety, biosafety, emergency response, hazardous waste, and hazardous materials.
- Deep knowledge of EHS laws/regulations impacting operations.
- Experience conducting incident investigations and interacting with regulatory agencies.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; proven ability to work cross-functionally (Facilities & Engineering, Product/Process Development, Quality, Operations).
