Role Summary
Ecosystem Portfolio Specialist I - Boston Massachusetts (Multiple Positions) responsible for promoting Novo Nordisk's cardiometabolic product portfolio to healthcare providers and influencers, achieving sales targets, and optimizing health system account strategies within a defined geographic area.
Responsibilities
- Account Management
- Assess and adapt sales and promotion strategies to align with health system account practices and care pathways
- Develop and update annual health system account plans to maximize sales outcomes
- Cultivate relationships with specialists and health system stakeholders; tailor value propositions
- Overcome resistance to product prescribing within the health system context
- Represent Novo Nordisk at academic institutions to influence residents and fellows
- Business Acumen
- Engage a broad set of stakeholders and discuss health system economics and quality metrics as needed
- Extract actionable insights from data to build and execute a business plan
- Manage time/resources efficiently with limited supervision
- Utilize discretionary budget for maximum sales impact
- Clinical Understanding
- Deep understanding of cardiometabolic disease states and patient populations
- Identify differentiating profiles between competing products
- Inform decision makers and stakeholders about Novo Nordisk products and uses
- Maintain knowledge of recent clinical studies; participate in training programs
- Understand how products address clinical needs
- Selling Skills
- Anticipate and respond to objections; secure next steps on calls
- Contribute at meetings and events; complete reports
- Describe and market the portfolio; tailor to patient profiles
- Establish call continuum with internal stakeholders; manage investments to maximize returns
- Identify customer needs and tailor approaches to maximize sales
- Implement marketing programs and other projects; inform management of initiatives
- Sell and promote cardiometabolic portfolio to endocrinologists, PCPs, institutions, and other personnel
- Collaborate with Ecosystem Manager to anticipate trends and opportunities
- Leverage marketing materials to promote products
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or equivalent degree, and/or Pharm D required
- Minimum of two (2) years of pharmaceutical sales, marketing, medical or healthcare industry experience required
- Demonstrated ability to drive sales in multiple channels
- Demonstrated leadership and decision-making ability
- Expert knowledge of cardiometabolic disease state and Novo Nordisk’s products
- Intermediate computer skills (Windows Word and Excel); experience with sales data/call reporting software preferred
- Self-starter with ability to make decisions with minimal supervision
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license
