Duchenne Nurse Educator

The Duchenne Nurse Educator (DNE) supports health care providers, patients, and caregivers through education on Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD), infusion processes for approved therapies, and Sarepta patient support programs. Develops relationships with HCPs, patients, and caregivers; collaborates with cross-functional partners to ensure ongoing therapy compliance. Covers: Washington, Oregon, Northern California, Utah, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Alaska.

Responsibilities:
- Educate providers, infusion nurses, patients, and caregivers on approved DMD therapies and the infusion process.
- Serve as a recognized expert on DMD education (genotype, deletions, disease process, etc.); stay current on the DMD environment.
- Collaborate with internal/external partners to support HCPs, patients, and families.
- Present compliantly; conduct disease-state awareness programs.
- Support infusion nurses; share best practices to improve infusion experience.
- Coordinate transition from infusion center to home infusion for PMO therapies (SareptAssist/specialty pharmacy).
- Support patients/families as requested by case managers or HCPs; attend advocacy meetings and industry conferences.
- Travel to trainings/medical offices/home health agencies as needed.
- Special project: triage nursing support—answer post-gene-therapy call questions during rotating on-call shifts, interpret information, liaison with an experienced physician, document calls (PV reporting), and route teams to the appropriate service center.

Qualifications:
- BSN/BS/BA from an accredited school; Registered Nurse.
- 5+ years relevant experience (infusion, neuromuscular, pediatric neurology, or other specialty preferred).
- Prefer 2+ years in pharmaceutical/biotech.
- Valid driver’s license (in good standing).

Skills/Requirements:
- Exceptional presentation and communication (verbal/written); comfort presenting live/virtual with/without technology.
- Team-based, empathetic, and able to work in a demanding environment.
- Comfortable speaking with patients/families.
- Continuous learning; requires rotating on-call coverage 24/7.
- Travel up to 60% within territory (ground/air).

Preferred:
- Bilingual English/Spanish.

Hybrid/Application:
- Hybrid role: expected to work on site at a U.S. facility and attend in-person events as needed.

- Target salary range: $136,000–$170,000/year.
