Donor Center Technician

Role Summary

Responsibilities

Additional Requirements

• Exposure to biological fluids with potential exposure to infectious organisms in a plasma center.
• Exposure to electrical office and laboratory equipment.
• Exposure to extreme cold (below 32°F) while working in a plasma freezer; use of PPE such as protective eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold gear.
• Work is performed sitting or standing for the entire shift, with bending and twisting of the neck and waist for 1–2 hours per day.
• Frequent hand movement and fine motor coordination; ability to grasp and manipulate objects.
• Frequent foot movement; may occasionally squat or crouch; light lifting up to 50 lbs (maximum lift).
• Hearing acuity and vision requirements; color perception and near/far vision corrected as needed.
• Ability to listen and follow oral or written instructions; perform a wide range of tasks with variable demands.
• Relates sensitive information to diverse groups.
