Role Summary
Donor Center Technician based in Phenix City, AL (North America – USA). Responsible for pre-donation medical screening, donor interaction, assessing donor suitability, and ensuring complete and confidential donor screening information in a plasma center.
Responsibilities
- Conducts pre-donation medical screening.
- Interaction and responsiveness to customer needs.
- Assesses donor suitability and engages in set-up.
- Provides appropriate feedback to ineligible donor candidates.
- Ensures all donor screening information is complete.
- Ensures donor confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Superior customer service standards
- A High School diploma or GED
- Ability to work a flexible schedule
- An interest in making a difference in the world
- Obtains required state licensures or certifications where applicable
Additional Requirements
- Work environment: plasma center; exposure to biological fluids and potential exposure to infectious organisms; PPE required (protective eyewear, garments, gloves and cold gear).
- Physical demands: work is performed sitting or standing for the entire shift, with bending and twisting of the neck and waist for 1-2 hours per day; frequent hand movement; ability to lift up to 50 lbs (lighter lifts around 15 lbs); may reach below shoulder height; frequent foot movement; hearing and color/vision requirements.
- Ability to listen to and understand information and instructions; ability to follow oral or written instructions; capacity to perform tasks under variable demands and changing conditions; ability to relate sensitive information to diverse groups.
