Role Summary

Donor Center Technician based in a plasma center. You will conduct pre-donation medical screening, assess donor suitability, and engage in donor setup while maintaining donor confidentiality. You will provide responsive donor service and ensure complete and accurate donor screening information. Location: Columbus, GA, USA.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts pre-donation medical screening.
  • Interacts with donors, addressing needs and ensuring responsive service.
  • Assesses donor suitability and engages in setup.
  • Provides feedback to ineligible donor candidates.
  • Ensures all donor screening information is complete and maintains donor confidentiality.

  • Obtains required state licensures or certifications where applicable

Additional Requirements

  • Work is performed in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids and potential exposure to infectious organisms.
  • Exposure to electrical office and laboratory equipment.
  • Exposure to extreme cold below 32 degrees F in the plasma freezer.
  • Personal protective equipment is required, including protective eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold gear.
  • Work may involve standing or sitting for the entire shift, with bending and twisting of the neck and waist for 1–2 hours per day.
  • Frequent hand movement and the ability to perform fast, precise movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists; and frequent foot movement. May include squatting or kneeling.
  • Light lifting of 15 lbs, with a maximum lift of 50 lbs; occasional reaching below shoulder height.
  • Hearing acuity, color perception/ discrimination, near and far vision (correctable where applicable).
  • Ability to listen to and understand information presented through spoken words and sentences and to follow oral or written instructions.
  • Ability to perform a wide range of tasks with variable demands and changing conditions.
