This role is field-based; candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate in-field activity to achieve results and agreed-upon targets; drive top- and bottom-line results.
- Ensure smooth day-to-day and long-term business execution; set tone and pace for business process and organization.
- Lead teams by presenting a market/franchise point of view; develop mastery of product and disease-state information and market dynamics (including Managed Care).
- Coach, mentor, educate, and develop direct and indirect team members; hold direct reports accountable to behaviors and expectations.
- Provide direction and insights to internal partners in the business planning process; consistently exemplify AbbVie Ways of Working.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in health/sciences/pharmacy/business preferred (or relevant equivalent industry experience).
- Business analysis and planning skills that drive sales performance.
- Proven District Manager leadership: in good standing with safety/compliance; minimum four years pharmaceutical sales management experience (external management experience may be considered); meeting performance expectations; demonstrates Leadership Attributes.
- Excellent judgment and decision-making; ability to articulate scientific aspects of treatments/therapeutic areas.
- Proven ability to deliver candid feedback, manage performance, and develop talent for promotional opportunities.
- Ability to create a culture of winning and full team engagement.
- Satisfy all applicable HCIR credentialing requirements; may include background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, and required state/city licenses; must be in good standing/eligible.
- Ability to drive personal auto/company vehicle or powered material handling equipment; valid driver’s license; pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
