Role Summary

The District Business Manager is a critical role in our unique customer model to execute the BMS aspiration to be the BioPharma that delivers the most impactful engagement with Health Care Providers (HCPs), driving adoption of new and existing medicines for appropriate patients. The primary role of the DBM is to lead, coach, and motivate a team of approximately 6-10 TASs to drive adoption of the Cardiovascular portfolio and generate demand. The DBM coaches TASs on learning objectives and ensures continuous improvement in core skills, while leading business and account planning and championing new digital capabilities and tools. The DBM is field-based and spends substantial time in the field with TASs.

Responsibilities

  • Focused in-role coaching and developing of TASs: coach TASs on competencies and learning objectives; conduct ride-alongs for key HCPs; own TASs learning journey and drive continuous improvement in core skills.
  • Champion adoption of new capabilities (e.g., CE^3 analytics, content personalization): model and coach on using new tools; guide call planning with CE^3 insights; convene field team to share experiences and drive adoption.
  • Execute strategic planning activities (promo program planning, budget planning, tumor prioritization at HCP level): prioritize accounts and develop strategies; ensure continuous customer experience improvement; lead district financial and program planning.
  • Comply with all laws, regulations, and policies that govern the conduct of BMS.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of pharmaceutical industry experience or related field.
  • Prior experience as a District Business Manager in Pharmaceutical Sales or leading high-performing teams is strongly preferred.
  • Pharma experience preferred, including understanding of reimbursement processes, access, and distribution environment.
  • Proven track record of inspiring and leading teams to meet or exceed goals; proven ability to select, develop, and retain talent.
  • Experience requiring analytical skills, selling skills, strong business acumen, and knowledge of the pharmaceutical value chain.
  • Eligible to operate a company-provided vehicle (driver requirements apply).

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
