Director of Vendor Performance Management (Development Operations) β Foster City, CA
Core Responsibilities
- Provide portfolio-level leadership and accountability for vendor performance management across outsourced service areas.
- Define, own, and govern vendor performance management frameworks (metrics, issue management, escalation pathways, performance improvement strategies).
- Oversee vendor performance tools and systems (KPI dashboard, Vendor Issue Management System) for data integrity and usability.
- Lead performance analytics and reporting to generate actionable insights and drive continuous improvement.
- Identify vendor performance risks/trends with cross-functional leaders; assess business impact; define and oversee improvement plans.
- Lead vendor performance governance and escalation processes; resolve complex portfolio issues with internal and vendor executives.
- Translate performance data into decision-ready insights for governance meetings.
- Design, implement, and continuously improve vendor performance management processes and ways of working.
- Build organizational capability via training, knowledge sharing, and best-practice adoption.
- Lead complex cross-functional initiatives; champion innovation/advanced analytics, including AI-enabled tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- BA/BS in life sciences (or related); 10+ years in vendor performance/relationship management (biotech/pharma).
- Experience leading portfolio-level vendor performance governance across clinical development vendor service categories.
- Strong KPI development/analytics; escalation and performance improvement planning.
- Partnering with vendors and cross-functional stakeholders, including senior/executive leaders.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Copilot, SharePoint; preferred advanced analytics/AI-enabled tools.

Benefits/Compensation
- Salary range: $210,375.00 - $272,250.00; may include discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives, paid time off, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, life insurance).
