Director, Value Chain Product Leader (Fully remote; travel as needed; candidates must be based in the US)
Key Accountabilities
- Own the design, performance, and continuous improvement of an end-to-end product value chain aligned to enterprise strategy/standards; ensure reliable, quality patient supply across clinical and commercial stages; meet service and lead-time targets.
- Drive product lifecycle management roadmap; optimize lead time, cost, and resilience.
- Define and execute product/network strategies (goods flow, SKU and inventory strategy); champion strategic investments for growth and sustainability.
- Proactively identify, assess, and communicate risks to quality, compliance, patient supply, and business continuity; lead escalation/mitigation for actionable supply risks (including patient stockouts); own business continuity, efficiency, and agility plans.
- Manage inventory health, key cost drivers, and service/cost/risk trade-offs; ensure accurate product costing (standard costs); enable data-driven, risk-based decisions.
- Serve as product voice in business forums; define target operating model (roles/processes/decision rights across Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics, and partners); build partnerships across Commercial, Clinical, Technical Operations, and Enterprise functions.
- Matrix leadership: lead cross-functional teams, coach/develop talent, monitor deliverables, and provide feedback to functional management.
Minimum Requirements
- BS/BSc in life sciences, engineering, supply chain, or business; 8–12+ years materials management/production planning/scheduling; 5–10+ years GMP/GCP-compliant pharmaceutical operations; 2–5+ years leading global, cross-functional matrixed teams.
- Strong supply/value chain management; ERP (Oracle or SAP preferred); GMP/ICH regulatory frameworks; risk and program/project management.
- Ability to assess issues across Regulatory, Quality, Supply Chain, Manufacturing.
- Executive communication/influence; cross-cultural global execution; continuous improvement mindset.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
Nice to Have
- MBA; APICS; Lean/DMAIC (Green Belt+); PMP; biopharmaceutical experience; strong financial/business acumen; ICH Q8–Q12.
