Responsibilities
- Successfully apply sophisticated tenants of large account management to develop and maintain rapport, credibility and trust with key decision makers to enhance current and future opportunities.
- Develop strategic business plans to ensure product access through direct and indirect channels, maintain distributor and pharmacy networks, and advance supply chain efficiency.
- Execute tactical imperatives to ensure product access through development, execution, and ongoing support of Product Delivery/Dispensing Models and innovative services with channel partners.
- Collaborate with internal partners on wholesale and downstream inventory demand, replenishment, forecasting, and quarterly DOH metrics to ensure product availability.
- Collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to determine and advance innovative channel-specific distribution models, including selection of distributors and service providers, pharmacy, or site-of-care networks.
- Maintain knowledge of product flow through the healthcare system and its implications for business opportunities through deep account penetration.
- Maintain subject matter expertise in wholesale and pharmacy channels to lead strategic initiatives.
- Negotiate Distribution Purchase and Service Agreements for product access through distributors.
- Build strong relationships with customers including Trade Organizations and other influential groups.
- Lead event-driven triage with internal/external coordination of solutions and channel market communications (e.g., product launches, pricing updates, divestitures, recalls, brand security issues).
- Maintain knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations with timely internal compliance training.
- Develop and utilize analytics to generate insights and oversee wholesale and downstream pipeline reviews, responding to inquiries from field sales and external channel customers.
- This role is field-based and requires 50% travel with a quarterly minimum home office presence.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years experience in pharmaceutical and/or health care sales.
- Minimum 3 years experience as National Account Manager.
- Experience with various account types (HMO, PBM, GPO, Mail Service, VA/DOD, Drug Stores).
- Experience in customer negotiation, financial analysis, legal influences, and contracting execution/implementation.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with strong organizational habits.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.
- BA/BS degree in Business and/or Sciences; MBA or advanced degree highly preferred.
